I Found This

 section of tree cut down by a beaver and already stripped of bark in a remote part of the Gila Wilderness in 1986. I was backpacking with my brother and had absolutely no idea how useful a hiking staff could be! But it fit my hand and height so perfectly i took it along for the rest of that journey! Thirty-five years later it has been my companion on so many miles through the outdoors. The only change I made was to add a brass cap to the ground end so it wouldnt get splintered or worn down. What wonderful memories!
