Nearly four years ago while we were in China to bring our daughter, Hallie, home- it snowed in Bejing. They said it was the first time in fifty years! I made this image then and thought of it as a cricket. We have just returned from a trip to Mexico where Hallie and I dared each other to eat chapulines ( grasshoppers). We both lived up to the dare and they don't taste like chicken. Now I've decided that it is a grasshopper, and the fainter one is a turtle, seen through the water- as a reminder of this trip to the beach in Mexico. It sure didn't snow.
I was born in Texas and have lived here all my life.I have been taking photographs for more than sixty years. I have been married for forty-six years. I have been a father for twenty-two years.I still have the second camera and the second car I ever bought. A Miranda G and a 65Mustang.
