Rainy Season in the Big Bend of Texas

We have been so privleged to be in the Big Bend at times during the rainy season- July and August. And many of them to be spending time in the Chisos Basin, staying in Cabin 103! Nothing compares to the smell of the rain, how abrubtly the temperature drops, and how wonderfully peaceful it is to watch the earth be refreshed from its porch.

Right now my heart goes out to the familes who lost loved ones in the floods the past few days along the Guadalupe and other rivers in Texas.
