Here comes an Extra Day in February!

 

 IT'S LEAP YEAR!!

Are you making plans yet on how to spend it? A very few of you will get to celebrate your birthday for the first time in four years!  I wish I could give some unique or inspiring suggestions for the rest but January has run us pretty ragged! On the other hand, with only two more days to go, we've almost got it licked! As Alfred E Neuman used to say...

We Have Been Blessed

 with many wonderful "animal family members" over the years! Many of you will understand how they can become human. They have brought wonderful companionship, comfort, and happiness into our lives. We only have two now- our oldest cat Lucy, passed yesterday. She was 21 years old.

. It was time and we had to make the decision to help her. Its hard.

Whether a pet, a close friend , or even a parent I am reminded of these paraphrased lines from Robinson Jeffers.......

We had great joy of this body, Scatter the ashes.

The Start of 2024

 For Renee' and I is best illustrated by the painting, The Big Wind by Hugo Sperger. Except we are still facing its challenges together, as we have for many, many years! And we are very aware of how blessed we are to have not only each other, but so much more to aid us than so many on this earth! 

We feel that the differences all of humanity has are not the greatest obstacle facing us, but our increasing failure to seriously try to solve them- because that would require real and equal compromise from all sides!
