Except in Spirit!

 I was not in Boulder for Hallies recent move from her first ever "solo" apartment to a new one in Broomfield. Its about 10 minutes away from her first "big girl" job and as she told me in describing reasons for moving "i'm just so tired of all those college kids!" She turns 22 years young this August! How the years have flown by.

 It was decided, by ALL parties, that i not be there to prepare for the move or assist in it. Basically my ideas on moving do not line up with either hers or her mothers. And in my physical condition i couldnt contribute anything in the way of "keep your mouth shut and carry boxes" help!

So i went to the South Dakota Badlands! More on that in another post.

I started this blog back in 2006, a few years after our daughter came into our lives, and posted to it often, maybe too often, about her, until finally, one year in her early teens, she said.... Dad thats enough pictures!

This was the first post, her running so excited and happy through the "shed" we were building. She's all Big Girl now, on her own and we have only grown more proud of everything she represents and IS over those years. We believe that at 22 years young she will become even more wonderful!  Not so many posts here anymore , and certainly none as interesting as those featuring Hallie.

But i am glad to share these thoughts and the first image ( taken by her mother, my wonderful wife Renee') of the only thing left behind in her old apartment. For generations in the Woodard family, always left behind when we've moved.

Finally!!!

 Nearly two months later than we would normally be enjoying them, we bought our first peaches from Stonewall! Weather conditions this year led to a disastrous season for the growers! Reports about the quality of those available in early June weren't good. So these are chilling in the refrigerator now and later today, when the temps hit 100+ I plan to bite into my first of the year!
