Yes, That's Me!

I believe August 1973? My second trip to the Big Bend. I did a solo hike from the Basin to the South Rim to the East Rim to the peak of Mt Emory and back to the Basin. In one day, in cowboy boots. I did have a cap, a one quart canteen, another shirt, and some snacks. No tripod so this must have seen the camera propped on some rocks, somewhere between the South Rim and the East Rim. Thats Elephant Tusk there in the lower left. I am so thankful for the 50 years I was able to spend in the Big Bend- with friends, family, and alone. I am also very glad I graduated from cowboy boots to hiking shoes and a big hat. In defense of the one quart canteen, back then Boot Springs still flowed regularly in August ( the rainy season) and I filled it twice that day! As well as drinking my fill of that sweet water while there in the shade of the Ponderosa Pines!  I'm also thankful for finding these negatives after all these years!

I Dont have the physique or the ponytail any more though!

One of the darkest

Days in our nations history, January 6,2021.

My issues are the rioters and more importantly those who swore an oath to protect the Constitution of the United States and have done nothing. And with the people of this nation who have yet to rise up, in unison, in protest.
