I really don't like windy days!

 And yesterday was a doozie! Up to 45mph gusts! Wind chimes playing Bohemian Rhapsody ( the long form Queen Version) on endless repeat! And our three porch rockers, oh me! They were inhabited  by three ghost children, maybe four for the excess speed they were moving at, Not the nice sedate soothing motion created by people of "our age" but a carnival ride recklessness of crazed abandon  fueled by the desire to BREAK SOMETHING! If you could have seen them I'm sure  hands gripped the rockers arms fiercely , their shoulder muscles tightened, and little legs were swinging wildly to provide even more momentum.

Where "our" driving sensibility  in rocking is the knowledge that at "our" time in life there is really no where else to go, to savor what we've been blessed to experience..... These KIDS truly believe that destroying something is just the beginning of a Great Adventure!

I went and took a nap, with the blanket pulled up over my head.

Ice Farming!

 What do you do when you live in Central Texas and you are under a rare Winter Weather Warning? Build a fire, cook some chili, and, if you have a very patient and forgiving wife..... try your hand at ice farming!

I've Been

 scanning old negatives for the past few weeks. I found a trove of them dating back to the late 60's recently and jumped in! Lots of wonderful memories and here and there a few great images!

We're having our version of a "winter storm" now or I would be out in the shed scanning away now! Theres just enough ice and sleet to insure I would wind up flat on the ground! Ah me, in my younger years I would be out with a camera exploring!
