Well, We Got Some Rain!

 Off and On for most of last week! Enough to wake up to the sound of rain on the roof AND go sit on the porch and soak it in, sound, smell, coolness! We need quite a bit more to erase the drought we've been under but so glad to have this! If this keeps up I'm going to be inspired to make a pot of chili or take a long nap!

 As I've been working in the shed for the past days or at least parts of them my eyes drift from the computer screens to the mish-mash of things really important pinned to the walls! The closest little collection has one of my most favorite images of me and my daughter, draped over it the camera strap and camera she made for me about the same time from construction paper! She made her mother a fertilizer spreader at the same time!

 In Tatum NM is a must stop for us, every-time we pass through the area! Strangely enough, we always seem to pass through there, coming and going through New Mexico! All the food is delicious, onion rings that are actually filled with onions- not batter, service very pleasant, ice cream machine eternally broken, and yes WAY too many flies! But hey, you take the little buzzing b@$&#rds with a grain of salt and ENJOY the food! On this last trip we met a father and son who were also passing through and I was lucky enough to get to photograph them! Such Happiness! So Much Love!

A Great Trip!

 There are several enjoyable parts to my photographing something. First " finding" the scene  in the world before me. Then composing and exposing the shot. Hardest now, with the zero cost of film- digital!, is the selecting of images to edit. Then there's the actual editing- something I do within the limits of what i could do in my darkroom, but with so much more control and ease! And finally, at least for me, the most crucial part- printing the image! I share these photos here, on this blog and in other internet sites but unless you are holding and viewing an actual print there's just no way you can see exactly what i want to present to you!
