So its a dead flat grey and colder outside on this only 2-29 for four years! We hit the mid 80's two days ago and it felt like summer was just around the corner but today it doesn't look like we are getting out of the 40's. Almost inspires me to build a big fire in the fire place! Almost, but the idea of just taking a nap sounds even better! Here's a little color to brighten up today's dullness- from last fall's trip to the Capitol Reef in Utah!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, there's one more of

 every day but Friday left in the month of February! Just think about that for a while! Also this Leap Year February, 2024, marked the last time  a 1000 year old festival in Japan was held-- The Naked Man Festival! It was held on February 17, which was not a Friday! I have no idea if this photo is from that sad day or from a more joyous occasion.

On a more positive note for this last Friday, tonight the SNOW MOON will rise full! I'm talking about the Earths companion moon, not all those guys bending over at once!

Theres Plenty Left!

I got up this morning and decided it was time to cook a stew, temp hovering just above freezing, wind blowing like crazy, grey and cloudy! So I did!

Finished up about 4pm, Renee' made a pan of biscuits and the sun came out! I think God must have approved of my beef stew! I know Renee' did!

We still have a couple gallons left, I just cant say for how long!

And a tip of my hat to Otto Reimer, who taught me how to make it- one iced over day at Woodson Lumber! Except we made 15 gallons! no biscuits, just crackers!

Not Even Two Weeks Since

 Her TOTAL knee replacement and she's doing laundry! I'm losing my job as a male nurse

But I'm keeping the uniform! If only I could overcome that German stubbornness and get her to slow down a little!  I threaten her by reminding that as soon as this one heals there's the second to repair!
