spent the last year sleeping in this bed in our bathroom. She spent all of her eighteen years living in our bedroom and bathroom. It was so wonderful to have her there, with us, by her choice. She left us yesterday. She was a small cat but she cast such a big, loving shadow in our lives.

Levon

Levon Helm died today.I didnt know him personally, nor had I ever seen him perform live. I really enjoyed his music and that of the Band. It always struck me as so great that a "hillbilly" from Arkansas was such a force in the Rock Music part of my life. I'm at the age where people start drifting away from this earth, my peers especially. Things start to shift focus. And you start seeing just how little you can do do to even keep the memories sharp.
I have always loved to say his first name. Levon.

Maunday Thursday

This is the altar in the church I attend. Set for the Maunday Thursday service. This service just happens to be the most significant one of the church year- for me at least. It celebrates the Last Supper, among other things. It is a somber service and ends with the alter being stripped and the sanctuary light going very dark. I find myself in amazement at the depth of God's grace.
