at this point in my life its no surprise as to how fast it passes. This summer, as my daughter became a teenage, was the first that she commented on the speed of its going! Ah Hallie, its just going to get faster! Quite a few of those summer ends have been spent on the porch of cabin 103, in the the Chisos Basin. Looking out, at sunrise- midday- dusk- and after full dark at this stone. Its surface polished by years of feet, hands, and bottoms resting on it. I'm so glad some of that polishing is mine, my wifes, and my daughters!

Today
is the day that separates our birthdays. I became eligible to collect social security yesterday and tomorrow she will officially be a teenager! I'm pretty sure she's going to have more fun with teen-ager hood than I will with social security. Although there are many years between our births and thousands of miles between our birthplaces there is no space between our love for one another. For that we both give thanks to God!
