down to San Antonio this morning with intentions of eating the FANTASTIC Chicken at Pollo Asado we were pretty depressed to learn that it was closed down again! This happened last spring as their neighbors complained about "too much smoke" ??? This is San Antonio, the East Side not Austin! So they made monstrous modifications ( see all that silver apparatus on top of the pit room??) and were allowed to reopen! All was right again in the universe!
It seems the Texas Air Quality Board isn't satisfied. Maybe someone should take them down to Pasadena, Texas and let them get a whif of the air ( or maybe just go sniff the Texas Capitol during a legislative session!) Anyway it wasn't a total washout -we only had to wait three hours at Rubens for tamales! And that smile on Renee's face should tell you the Sold Out Sign didn't apply to us! However the dozen tamales shown are long gone!!
This is what happens when you decide to wrap "fairy lights" around your head and set the controller to pulse! All of a sudden your are trapped in the Eighties!
