I Think Fall is Here !

 At least in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan!!  I think we qualify as Yoopers Now!

 

 

What Do You Know???

 Its officially the First Day Of Fall! To acknowledge that change in the weather here in Central Texas, it is currently 77 degrees at 9:40am ! Chilly! and the temp is only forecast to reach 96 degrees! Time to break out the long johns!

View from the porch of Cabin 103!

   For so many glorious days in late August, spread over more than twenty consecutive years- we were privileged to spend our days and nights at Cabin 103, in the Chisos Basin, of the Big Bend National Park!

  The cabin was built by the CCC, as the residence for the parks first superintendent- Russ Maxwell. It is small, simple, made of stone,with a tile roof and stone floors! A covered porch stretches its length and provides simply the best view imaginable from ANY "rental" in Texas!

  Our daughter Hallie, joined us, to spend her second birthday ( first in the US!) there. We continued that tradition until her 13th birthday! Those days in August,over the next eleven years weren't nearly as quiet as our years alone- but were even more glorious!

 I wont go on and on. I'm sure there are many previous posts here detailing our time and events in Cabin 103! Look for them if you are interested. The secret about 103 was "out" by that birthday in 2014. I believe you can still rent it and other cabins nearby. Just get in line and be prepared for lots of frustration.

  We have been blessed to be in So Many places over this earth and enjoy God's great Beauty and Peace! There is no place like Cabin 103 and the view from its porch!
