We got some rain from Hurricane Dolly, seems like forever since we'd seen any! So to make it last and because I love to drive I headed west to keep ahead of/in it for as long as possible. That wound up being three days, not all of it on the road ( about 500 miles in one direction worth). And one glorious 24 hour period spent under a tarp way out in the desert doing nothing but listening to it rain! Dont I just love living in Texas where you can reside more or less in the center drive 500 miles and still be in the same state!!
Finally got around to scanning this negative, inspired by the grease on the ceiling at the City Meat Market. They use an open pit inside there- Coopers is outside and gives the smoke a chance to disperse whenever they open the pit.
It's been a long time since we'd stopped at the City Meat Market. Nothing had changed. Except my memory, I forgot to get my Big Red as we were leaving. You could eat the ceiling back in the pit room! And while I'm thinking about it I heard on NPR, so it must be true!, that eating a lot of tofu leads to dementia. I'm pretty sure that's NOT why I forgot my Big Red.
I was born in Texas and have lived here all my life.I have been taking photographs for more than sixty years. I have been married for forty-six years. I have been a father for twenty-two years.I still have the second camera and the second car I ever bought. A Miranda G and a 65Mustang.
