The end of the vacation , the end of summer, or something she sees that I cant or wont? I know I was looking at her but couldn't really tell you what she was looking at. And you know- I'm glad! Our worlds connect- because she wants them to, because I do, because her mother does- but they dont always have to be the same. She knows this allready at seven and is comfortable with it.... it took me nearly thirty five years to realize it with other loved ones. I'm so thankful that I had finally awakened to this when Hallie entered our lives.
in the Chisos Basin of Big Bend National Park has housed us in August for an end of summer vacation for over ten years. The last half of those years Hallie has been with us. Its not nearly as quiet now but getting to hear the sound of her feet on those wonderfully polished stone floors more than makes up for not getting to read a book a day! And the sound and smell of the summer rain is still just as glorious!
Roll the window down and let your hand surf the wind! That takes care of a few minutes worth of the "Are we there yets?" And after you've been married thirty wonderful years your wife doesn't even bug you about driving and taking pictures at the same time-- even if you have to turn around to do it!
For me it will be great, I'm not sure if they will agree at the end but I get to spend the next nine days with these two wonderful women-- my wife and daughter. You can bet they will get very tired of me asking them to pose for me but then look at them!! They created the problem! Lucky for them I only have a very limited supply of this SX-70 film.
Along with the new/old SX-70 film I got a tele-extender for my SX-70, which gives me the ability to limit the depth of field, without being ultra close. It really was this green out in the Big Bend, no photoshopping-- they've had a lot of rain! I'm having fun, at least til the film runs out!
One of my experiments with old/new SX70 polaroid film. No photoshopping, just spotting for dust specs and that sure is easier with photoshop! Click on image for larger version.
